Have you ever met someone in passing and knew, one day, you would be friends. Even if it was a brief chat. That you just clicked?
That’s exactly how I felt when I met Lyss and Jesse for the first time at Nicole and Chris’s wedding. Lyss was wearing a super fabulous yellow dress, I referenced Beauty and the Beast, she squealed and we became fast friends. I was so excited when Jesse reached out to me a few months later to meet up and discuss their wedding. You see, I didn’t know it yet, but these two had already decided I was the only photographer for them. Which really hits me in all the squishy feels. I always feel honored when people like my work, but to hire me based on personality really means something.
The three of us met up over some fajitas, and started making Star Wars references. I knew we were meant to be friends. That hour just cemented our relationship, while filling our bellies with delicious foods.
What to say about these two’s relationship? I mean, other than that they’re hella awesome? Well, Lyss reminds me a lot of myself (so of course I love her!), and Jesse reminds me of my husband. How so? Well Jesse is the romantic in the relationship. He goes all out to make grand romantic gestures. Heck even the ring box he used to ask Lyss to marry him was special (it came with a built in light that shone down on the bling bling). My husband is the same way. You should read some of the super sweet things he writes me in cards. While Jesse is sweet, Lyss has all the jokes. Shes quite funny. Like someone else I know. Together these two are going to last the years. I just feel it. We can not wait to document their wedding, it’s going to be a blast. I know it.
Now, about their session. It was quite chilly, but these two braved it like the troopers they are. Or should I say Storm Troopers. Haha, ha, see what I did there? We went to the Cultural Gardens in Cleveland, and then stopped over by the Superior viaduct to take advantage of this stunning wall mural. I think these images turned out amazing, don’t you?
Oh, and did I mention they love Star Wars? Cause, they do.
