One of my favorite locations for engagement sessions is Rocky River. Mainly because it’s one of the few locations on the lake that isn’t saturated with other photographers, but also because it’s beautiful. I have shot many sessions at this exact location (just check out Annie and Johnny’s session for proof), and every time I come to this stretch of beach, I swear it’s different. This time, it was, as far as beaches go, a hot mess. There was drift wood all over the sand, the tide was high, and we were all very likely to get sprained ankles if we adventured too far. But that didn’t stop Ausma or Matt from going along, climbing over downed trees, and more or less just trusting my crazy self to take the very best images I could.
We had a few things working against us this day, mainly the wind, and a serious lack of shade. But you would never know, because these two are so in love, they eclipse any problems we come across. After some great images at the park, we all hopped into our cars, and drove a few blocks down the street to an adorable brick sided local business and snapped away again. I may have taken them around the block once or twice to find a parking space, but they didn’t make fun of me too much for that. All in all, I think their engagement images turned out perfectly, and I could not be happier with the result. I can’t wait to shoot their wedding this summer. I know these two will be just as fun to work with, if not more so.
Oh yeah, the pictures. I know you want to see those!
